Canada Cultural Investment Fund – Endowment Incentives

Matching Funds

Canada Cultural Investment Fund

The Department of Canadian Heritage is once again making their endowment fund matching program available to arts & culture organizations.

The Canada Cultural Investment Fund (Endowment Incentives Component) is intended to encourage private donors to contribute to the endowment funds of not-for-profit professional arts organizations. Organizations that qualify for funding can receive up to a maximum of a dollar for each dollar raised, depending on the availability of funds and the number of successful applicants.

In 2015, the Department of Canadian Heritage, through its Endowment Incentives component, contributed $17.7 million in grants matching private sector donations to the endowment funds of 98 Canadian arts organizations. Since 2001, the Endowment Incentives component has provided $22.3 million in matching grants to the endowment funds of BC arts organizations; twenty four of those organizations hold endowment funds at Vancouver Foundation and have received over $2.9 million in matches.

The next application deadline is December 1, 2016 for funds raised and deposited into your endowment fund between December 1, 2015 and November 30, 2016.
